The Maricopa County lottery, er voting machines.

Welcome to comedy, you’ve already paid for the ticket, might as well enjoy it.

In short a race  for district 20 in Maricopa county  was so close it required a recount, the recount found  over 400 new votes and materially changed the outcome of the election.  The people screaming for a paper  count and backup have to realise that  if they get what they want you still have to convince those in charge, those that benefit from the fraud, to allow the recount. The county atty is so sure that the machines are accurate that proving such would be somehow damaging to the confidence in the process. Then again the ballots to count, er they are being stored illegally, may not exactly be in great condition ( how conveeenient)    Read the Newtimes account of this latest fun turn.

So coincidence?   new ballots found , attempts to carry out an illegal manual count, ballots not located where the law says they should be  oh and the county knew the machines were faulty  over five years ago and that’s before we get to the alledged witness tampering…

Welcome to the Heller zone.

Searching for a New Direction Dr Ron Paul

True reform is impossible without addressing the immorality of wealth redistribution. Merely electing new leaders and writing more rules to regulate those who petition Congress will achieve nothing.

A few good men? It’s like we might not even have that many , least in office:) Yes it’s a long piece but frankly it’s the kind of material that makes most people hide under their bed given that the enormity of the changes that we’d require , oh wait that’s a freaking lie.. You know I’ve a feeling that without forced exportation of “pure” democracy, without the regulation of our lives with regards to consensual crimed and without this idea that people less fortunate have an inherent right to the labor of others that we’d get on just fine .. eventually :D

Note this doesn’t mean I want the same country he does  just that I agree on where it’s going to come from.

Homeland Security to launch preparedness program for kids

CNN.com – Homeland Security to launch preparedness program for kids – Jan 20, 2006

We’re being asked to take lessons in preparedness and planning from people that are two years late in going live.

“the Sloan Foundation said about $1.8 million was needed to hire outside vendors to provide appropriate hosting and security for the site in 2002 before the launch.”

Excuse me, what the hell is going in when they can spend $1.8  million on hosting a website for kids, they sorry  ,  WE ,  it’s not DHS money it’s our money.  I’m just amazed at the insanity  allowed to persist by our self designated “protectors” that would get anyone in the private sector fired  x 23 I wonder if they have heard of Godaddy.com?
Even more  interesting.

The program is part of the Department of Homeland Security’s $100 million campaign to prepare American citizens for terrorism disasters.

You know nearly all the “normal” people we know ( thankfully very few of those;)  don’t have spare light, heat, food, water or gas storage. Frankly most people’s houses can’t take 2 days without power without serious issues.  Americans have one of the lowest savings rates of any developed nation which translates into  not only do they not have supplies spare but they can’t afford , sans gov bailout, in most cases to rebuild or insure.

We’re scroomed:)

CNN.com – Junk-food suit targets Nickelodeon, Kellogg – Jan 18, 2006

A more accurate title would be Junk lawsuit targets money. I tort a taw a tupid twat, brings on the parents, I did I DID see a stupid twat. Get this, there are people that are willing to stand up in court and say .. I can’t control my small children, they are out all hours with the Trix rabbit and Captain Crunch , we find them face down in the cereal aisle with their pockets stuffed full of Cheerios trying to snort marshmallow stars while injecting chocolate milk into their necks. We just can’t stop them earning their money, driving to the store and filling up on junk food please nanny state, oh won’t you please help us?

They need a new cereal called WTF-O’s , actually that’s a bad idea I’d bet you would find some unkempt fire dancing hippies in your cereal which contains sterilizing agents to render their genetic legacy impotent.. These people are too stupid to live!

Wells Fargo – Reviews on RateItAll

The usual we apologise for the inconvenience.  Card gets declined in public, phone reps are a pain in the ass re account verification ( ie  if they paid so much attention to the rest of the business they would be the greatest)  and then it took  20 mins for them to tell me that I have no card and  have to wait till next week ( when I shall be in Vegas) to get it.    This is the second time incorrect information from their tellers has left me without access to my funds, they have pulled the Card won’t turn off game twice with Erin and  here’s the funny thing they have my card reported as  damaged x 2  yet  no replacements were ever received or activated. The same company that sent my checks to an old address, and then charged me for their error by making me switch accounts.. It’s a real hassle changing banks but the ass clowns over at Wells have proven that  when it comes to customer service   all they can do is mouth platitudes ..

No offer to fed ex card /  to reactivate old one or provide any temporary relief re their misinformation.

Dat’s funny. Achoo and the oorgle monster.

Wanna Biccy!

Tonight we found out our son is now into sustained laughter with the correct input.  The correct input is sneezing, or pretending to do so, it’s joy , rapture and it looks like some people at a rave  though  E’s only naturally high.   Was so cute I rescued the portable rig  from the car ( yep I’m one of the best equipped non active podcasters)  and managed to get about 90 seconds of this, I also received my  production sampler last week…can  we guess where this is going?   Moment that I had finished recording,  playback, battery dies  thus denying my parents the  amusement of their grandson  oorgling his way through  twinkle twinkle little star.  We’re so close to the first words now that I know he’s planning on doing it after the last AA battery has dies in the house.

Erin’s added more to the house, media units and shelving and returned from Ikea ( impromptu trip, she went to a store, not the range , weird ) with even more additions  it’s amazing what she can get done and humbling given my inertia after I leave work.

YouTube – How to make lockpicks.

You know I love sparks, I love messing with locks and I love how some people have faith in Yale keys keeping people honest. I’m a big fan of those with hideously expensive locks in a door frame that the big bad wolf could penetrate with a fart let alone some serious huffing.  Locks may be societies biggest fiction after money:D

Educational fun for all.

Scotland – Jailed killers to be freed one week a month

Scotsman.com News – Scotland – Jailed killers to be freed one week a month

One has to love a country where you have no practical right to self defense, should you prevail in stopping an attacker  you usually end up being charged if you so much as poke them with a pen, so  that’s ok  because the state takes care of you,  they catch the bad guys and  put them away  where they..

Oh wait, they let them out

MURDERERS and rapists will be allowed out of jail for up to one week a month because of a shortage of modern accommodation in Scotland’s prisons.

Why do they let them out?  Well  the prisons are old, don’t have proper sanitation resulting in the prisoners prevailing in a lawsuit  with regards to them having to use a portable potty and then empty it in the morning.  Seemingly they can stomach taking a life but poor dears can’t deal with their own shit.  So what wonderful scheme would the prison service come up with to resolve this?  Releasing them into the public.   Can the public sue the government should these people reoffend? Er no.  The best they can hope for is getting one week out of three on the outside for lynching the stupid bastards enacting this policy.

A BLOGGER IS JUST A WRITER WITH A COOLER NAME

Sadly you have to get really close to the end to see just where the point is not only missed, we found out that sights been aimed at another target altogether and I do hope the people over footland are as forgiving as the Pakistanis when an errant missile wanders their way.

Ultimately, it comes down to this: In the very near future, there are only going to be two types of media people: those who can reliably work and publish (or broadcast) incredibly fast, and those … who can’t.

Oh fuck, I was meant to be making money from this all along, somehow this is a job:) To co-opt blogging into the traditional media in this manner misses a fundamental point with regards to whom the audience is and what they want, fast things, superficially covered and lots of them which sounds very much like what the established media would like to offer, sounds uncannily like any trip through any local newscast in the USA.

Flu bug developing resistance to drugs – Nation/Politics – The Washington Times, America’s Newspaper

Looks like the shiny packaging is loosing a bit of its burnish as resistance is proving anything but useless to the flu virus. So no problem we’ll just make newer and more effective drugs. K, who’s going to do that? The US is not exactly brimming with capacity when it comes to provision of quick and effective drugs. This has nothing to do with a “zero risk” mentality in a world that refuses to play along with our attempts to extended neoteny way out till, well death in most of the religious’ cases, you’ld be a fool , and a communist, to think so:P

Russian law paralyses vodka production

And people say that capitalism is failing in the former Soviet union.  This seemingly assinine act is not exactly a product of a free market but an attempt, probably with the purest of motives naturally, to prevent counterfeit items by involving the state. Nice, they can’t enforce the laws that they already have so  hey let’s add some more on top which are bound to do the trick.   ( sound like any North American  country you know? )
Thankfully Ketel One is “official” supplier of  grain done right  to the Otterman Empire . Slainte Mhath!

James Randi’s Swift – January 13, 2006

Wander over to Randi’s weekly newsletter for some good ole fashioned hellfire directed at those that believe in such.. Mind boggles,  when it’s so clearly written in those terms that anyone able to program a VCR couldn’t put down their childhood things and grow up.
Then again  there were a lot of blinking 00:00′s
